works perfectly to keep my poor old blind cat where he needs to be, but the (fat) sighted ones can jump right over. And my husband and i can easily step over it too. installed it's exactly 20.5 inches. i don't really see the purpose of the door, but it doesn't detract from the product. Looks nice for a pet gate.

Sturdiest and easiest to install ever!! Will never buy any other brand or type of gate.

Super easy to put together! Measured the door width. The instructions showed which two on top and two on bottom screw holes to use. The pressure mount knobs are extremely sturdy and easy to level in a not so even doorway. No slipping at all. Perfect size for my 12lb papillon to not get over this gate but the doorway is plenty big for him to get through. The door stays firmly closed and firmly open. No swinging or looseness. I’m short. This is easy to step over. (Cat does fine jumping over but she’s a cat so that’s no surprise). We have gates throughout our carpeted upstairs to keep our older dog where he needs to be. I’ve never loved a gate as much as this one. We will be getting three more. This will fit up to 41.3” wide doorway and as narrow as 28.3”.

but easy for the adults to walk over

Works well, tall enough to work for my 10 lb dog, but easy for the adults to walk over without having to take it down.

Nice quality, just too short

Ambivalent. This is really high-quality, very pretty. Easy to put together, easy to install. But be realistic: anything you can easily step over will not stop cats, and probably won't stop anything but the tiniest of dogs. I think labeling it a pet gate is misleading.
